The new 8Z Pellicle elastomer suspension has eight zones of varying tension with a visually uniform surface. It is zoned on four backs and four seats. It provides better pressure distribution for the body. It also allows body heat to pass through, helping to maintain a comfortable skin temperature. The new 8Z Pellicle provides comfortable, ergonomic support.

The Harmonic 2 tilt mechanism is an innovative tilt mechanism. Previous chair tilt functions required reclining using muscles. The tilt mechanism of the Aeron chair allows tilting around the ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, and neck. This allows reclining by simply shifting the center of gravity forward and backward without interfering with natural body movements. It always maintains body balance and provides proper control within a 30-degree reclining range. It makes any posture during work healthy and comfortable.

The reason why Herman Miller developed PostureFit is that many workers sit for long periods of time without sitting deeply, with their weight only on the front part of the seat of their office chair. If you continue to sit in a slouched position without supporting your back and waist, you will often experience problems such as stiff neck and shoulders, headaches, fatigue, and back pain. In order to maintain the correct curve of the spine without bending forward, it is important to provide solid support by eliminating the gap between the lower part of the backrest and the pelvis of the person sitting, so that the angle of the pelvis is the same as when the person is standing. Normally, even if you sit deeply, there will be a gap in this area. Therefore, Herman Miller is the first office furniture manufacturer to develop a new lumbar support function. This technology was developed in collaboration with Dr. Brock Walker, an expert in the treatment of lower back pain and a researcher of chairs from an ergonomic perspective. Dr. Brock Walker is highly regarded as a consultant in various fields such as the marine industry, aerospace industry, and motorsports industry, and has been involved in the development of cockpits for airplanes and racing cars.

To make it harder : Turn the dial in the plus (+) direction without leaning on the backrest.
To soften : Turn the dial in the minus - direction without leaning on the backrest.
*The appropriate firmness is when the backrest tilts while supporting your back when you lean lightly against it, and when you return to its original position, the backrest naturally follows your back. *It takes about 7 turns from the hardest to the softest setting.

Set the range : Without leaning against the backrest, push the lever forward. Choose the position you want to set the range from two levels.
Cancel the setting : Without leaning against the backrest, move the lever backward (to the rearmost of the three positions where the lever stops). *Incorrect operation may cause a malfunction. *When you stop leaning against the backrest, the backrest will return to its original position. (It is not fixed.)

To raise the seat height : Sit on the seat and raise your hips slightly while moving the knob up, down, left or right to raise the seat height. Release the knob when the seat height is as desired.
Lower : While sitting on the seat, move the knob up, down, left or right to lower the seat. Release the knob when the seat is at the desired height.

The posture fit of the Remastered Aeron Chair Lite model has a minimalist design, but it firmly supports the lower back, focusing on the pelvis. Please sit deep into the seat so that the pelvis is supported. *The posture fit of the Lite model does not have an adjustment dial.

Bill Stumph and Don Chadwick created Herman Miller's first ergonomic office chair, the Ergon chair, in 1976. In 1979, they introduced the Equa chair, which offered an ergonomic seating solution. Bill Stumph realized that the situation and changes at the time when computers began to be introduced into offices were not responding well to people's needs, so he began designing a completely new office chair. This was the "Aeron chair," which would later become the de facto standard for high-performance office chairs.
I do my best work when I'm on the edge. DJ De Pree of Herman Miller told me, "Good design isn't just good business; it's a moral imperative." That's the biggest pressure I have. — Bill Stumph
Bill Stumph and Don Chadwick, both born in 1936, are the most powerful design duo in the history of office furniture. The Chadwick-Stumph partnership was based on Chadwick's dedication to materials and manufacturing processes and Stumph's dedication to ergonomics. The result was a highly technical, durable chair that was suitable for almost anyone.
In 2016, with the help of Chadwick, the Aeron Chair was remastered to incorporate new research into the science of sitting, as well as advances in materials, manufacturing and technology.
Design is about solving fundamental human problems
Founded in 1923 (its predecessor, Star Furniture Company, was founded in 1905), Herman Miller bet its survival on contemporary furniture during the Great Depression of the 1930s. This gamble was a great success, and in 1945, Herman Miller stopped producing traditional furniture and focused on contemporary furniture, which would later be called modern furniture. In 1960, the company began to explore the true needs of office workers and the needs of companies and organizations. They realized that office productivity was a major issue in business. The "Action Office" that was developed in this way became the norm for subsequent office systems. Herman Miller believes that innovation is not a goal but the result of research. Innovation comes from research into customer needs, exploration of materials and processes, and design that responds to social and economic innovations. Of course, designers add inspiration on top of that. Charles and Ray Eames' plywood chairs, Robert Propst's Action Office, Bill Stumph's Ergon and Aeron chairs, and Ayse Birsel's Resolve system are all products of such interactions. What connected them to Herman Miller was the shared belief that "design exists to solve fundamental human problems." Rather than designing for the sake of design, it was their passion to create new designs from research into the human body and the environment that surrounds us.
The quality control department repeats the industry standard 100,000 seat tests 1 million times. The unparalleled research and development department develops from the material, and the manufacturing department realizes the most advanced manufacturing process. In all of these, Herman Miller never forgets its idea of creating new designs by researching the human body and the environment. Herman Miller's products are the inevitable form that was born from researching the problems related to the act of sitting. In order to save global resources and reduce the environmental burden, Herman Miller's products strive to improve the durability and reliability of its products, and the product warranty period for work chairs is 12 years. Another aspect of innovation, "taking risks," is equally important. Herman Miller strives to always maintain a willingness to take risks. As the company expands and the responsibility for capital increases, the pressure to minimize risk has also increased. However, Herman Miller continues to take risks to bring out new products that it is confident will be successful - and sometimes products with revolutionary qualities that will change the times.
