Great design, healthy support, and exceptional value are always attractive. And the Sail Chair has all three. By transforming simple materials with sophisticated technology, we were able to make the Sail Chair the way a great chair should be in every respect. Fewer parts and materials mean less of a burden on the environment. After designer Yves Béhar and the Herman Miller development team rethought every part, the Sail Chair was updated to be better and more capable, setting a benchmark for quality, performance, and design in this class of chairs.
The concept of using suspension towers to support a frameless suspension back allows the elastomer material to be tensioned to provide maximum tension where support is needed, and strength where it is not, resulting in a product that combines state-of-the-art ergonomics with sophisticated design, all while using minimal materials.
